How to get there
Arriving in Vienna by plane at Schwechat/Vienna International Airport
There is a bus running 10 minutes to every hour from the airport to
Baden train station. Costs are 9.70 Euro, and it will take about 1 hr.
From the station it is best to take a taxi to the Grandhotel Sauerhof.
We are also collecting arrival times to arrange a taxi service, which is
50 Euro per car (up to 3 people).
By train
From Westbahnhof
Take the Subway U6 to 'Philadelphiabrücke, direction 'Siebenhirten'
or 'Alterlaa', from there change to the 'Badner Bahn', which is a blue
and yellowish tram. This will take you directly to Baden (last stop,
which is called 'Josefsplatz'). From there the Grandhotel Sauerhof is
10 min. walk away (see map).
Tickets are 5.10 Euro (3 'zones'), buy tickets before you get on the
train at ticket machine before you get on the train.

From Südbahnhof or Wien Mitte
It is best to take a 'Schnellbahn' S9, which runs at 29 and 59 min past
each hour from 'Südbahnhof' (or 23 and 53 min past the hour from
'Wien Mitte') and takes about 40 minutes to the train station in Baden.

There is also a faster train 'Regionalzug', which leaves at 26 and 56 min
past each hour (or 20 and 50 min past the hour from 'Wien Mitte'), which
is a lot faster. Both trains go to the Endstation 'Wiener Neustadt'.

Also the 'Badner Bus' No. 360, which leaves from Matzleinsdorferplatz,
close to the Südbahnhof.
From Vienna City centre/Opera
The Wiener Lokalbahn 'Badner Bahn' (www.wlb.at)
runs between the State Opera in Vienna and Baden Josefsplatz.
The Wiener Lokalbahn leaves every quarter of an hour (the stop is across
the road from the Opera) till 20:42 (from 20:12 only half-hourly)
e.g. 15:10, 15:25, 15:40, 15:55, 16:10 etc.
The ticket price from Vienna to Baden is 5.10 Euro Departure from
Baden Josefsplatz every quarter of an hour till 19.30, thereafter
half-hourly till 23:30 e.g. 21:00, 21:30, 22:00 etc.

The 'Badner Bus' No. 360 runs between the Opera and Casino Baden
and also stops at Josefsplatz. Travelling time is about 45 minutes.
The ticket price from Vienna to Baden is 5.70 Euro per person.

16:50, 17:10, 17:30, 17:50, 18:20, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 22:05,

By Car
There is free parking behind the hotel. Access to hotel parking is
via Sauerhofstrasse. Ring the bell at the gate and the doors will be
opened automatically.
Coming from the West:
- Highway A1 (Westautobahn) - A21 direction Graz
- EXIT #17 for Mayerling - Baden - Mödling
- B210 direction Helenental
- Pass the Hotel Sacher - turn left - Baden West
- Following the green signs to 'Strandbad', cross the bridge and turn left
- On the right hand side you will see the GRAND HOTEL SAUERHOF (and before the Pension Weilburg).
Coming from the South or from Vienna:
- Highway A2 (Südautobahn), coming from Vienna EXIT #21 for Baden
- At the traffic light after the exit, turn left
- At the signpost for Baden-Ost, turn right
- Straight ahead under the railway bridge, at the roundabout straight ahead into Weilburgstrasse, on the left hand side you will see the GRAND HOTEL SAUERHOF (and shortly afterwards the Pension Weilburg).
Coming from the East / Vienna airport (Schwechat):
- Leave the airport on highway A4 direction Wien for approx. 5.8 km
- Change from highway A4 to S1 (at Knoten Schwechat) direction Schwechat and follow S1 for approx. 17 km.
- Change from highway S1 to A2 (at Knoten Vösendorf) direction Graz and follow S1 for approx. 17 km.
- Leave A2 at Exit #21 for Baden
- At the traffic light after the exit, turn left
- At the signpost for Baden-Ost, turn right
- Straight ahead under the railway bridge, at the roundabout straight ahead into Weilburgstrasse, on the left hand side you will see the GRAND HOTEL SAUERHOF.
